Staying Inspired

I would say that most artists have a certain spark that makes them create. But, once in a while, it seem like ideas are hard to come by and that you need a boost. Sometimes, I find inspiration from my surroundings.

One of my favorite inspirations is driving in the rain. The rain running over the windshield and blurring the colors is so amazing. Seeing the streaks of the tires and the reflections of the street lights is like an abstract painting. Add a person tucked off the road and you have a story.

So, next time, you're driving in the rain, take the opportunity to get inspired!

Changes

In a very short amount of time, I went from not having a Website to what else can I do online. The problem that I was having was nothing was good enough. I finally got fed up with so many designs, I opted for a quick template to create my Website. It's not about designing, it's about getting my work out there. It's also a form a procrastination. Down the road, I plan to expand and develop my Website and even this blog (which already went through some changes), but for now, it's about getting online, networking and making new friends. Sometimes you need to get out of your on way.

Taking Leaps

You would think as you get older you would have less fears on making decisions. Well, I believe it's harder. As you develop more experience and go through more in your life, you have more references. Trying to make choices with more information is more difficult. Like going public with your blog.

The way I'm looking at it now is that this is an unknown territory for me and the only way I can gain an experience is doing it. Like someone just recently told me, "what's the point then" if you don't go public?

Letting it all hang out

Deciding to go public with my artwork was a difficult choice. It was a matter of knowing that I'm express my inner thoughts and soul through my artwork to the world.

The Internet is a wonderful place to be seen. But, it's pretty scary knowing that you can have many people you don't know looking at your work.

I've listened and interacted with people who have viewed my work at a few shows and had wonderful experiences. Some comments were on the edge of "what were you thinking" mentality. Being an artist who reflects and sorts outs her thoughts through various ways is really commentary in many ways. Just like a writer who describes an event, I visually do the same. Either way, it's a form of expression.

Blogging is a new form of expressing myself. What the hell, just let it all hang out.

Fate

The image that I chose is about how life is sometimes out of our hands. When I was creating this image, I felt that sometimes we have no control over our lives. But, then, who has control? Why does a child survive an airplane crash while others on that flight perish? Do we let our life be controlled by religion? This image has the overtones of religion. What do you believe in?
